Your licence key arrives by email as soon as your order completes. This page covers installing, activating, moving and recovering it.

Activating step by step
- Install the software using the download link in your order confirmation.
- Launch it. The activation dialog appears the first time it runs.
- Enter the serial number / licence key exactly as it appears in your confirmation email, including hyphens.
- Choose online activation if the machine has internet access. This is instant.
- If the machine is offline, pick manual activation and follow the prompts to exchange a request code for an activation code.
If activation fails
- “Invalid serial number” — check for a copied trailing space, and confirm the key matches the product and version you installed. An upgrade key will not activate a full installation, and vice versa.
- “Activation limit reached” — each licence allows a set number of installations. If you have replaced or rebuilt a machine, contact us and we will reset it.
- Nothing happens when you click activate — a firewall or corporate proxy is usually blocking the request. Try manual activation, or allow the application through the firewall.
- Lost your key — check the original order confirmation first, then contact us with the order number or the email address used at purchase.
Moving to a new computer
Deactivate on the old machine before you retire it, then activate normally on the new one. If the old machine is already gone, contact us and we will release the activation for you.
Before you contact us
Confirm your computer meets the minimum system requirements for the version you bought, and have these to hand:
- Product name and version, for example TurboCAD 2026 Platinum
- Your serial number or order number
- Your operating system
- The exact wording of any error message
